How it works

CagriSema pairs semaglutide (a GLP-1 receptor agonist) with cagrilintide (a long-acting amylin analogue). Amylin and GLP-1 act on complementary satiety pathways, so the combination targets appetite and food intake through two mechanisms. In Phase 3 (REDEFINE) research the combination produced greater weight loss than semaglutide monotherapy — around 22.7% at 68 weeks in reported data.
